Kindwiller

Kindwiller, perched on a promontory, offers a breathtaking view to the north over the Moder valley.

From this height, you can see the villages of Pfaffenhoffen, la Walck, Niedermodern, and Uberach, while the surrounding valleys shelter Nieffern, Uhrwiller, Engwiller, Mietesheim, and Bitschhoffen.

The church steeple, visible from afar, stands at the heart of a landscape of hills and valleys stretching along the left bank of the river, once called "Matra." This area lies against the Vosges mountain range, near the communes of Rothbach, Offwiller, and Zinswiller. The Rotchbach, fed by the former Weyergraben and Kirchbachgraben streams, once provided the energy needed for the Hardtmühle mill, which was converted into a sawmill in 1891.
