Knoersheim
Knoersheim is a charming village with a pleasant living environment, home to only 209 inhabitants. Located less than 10 kilometers from Wasselonne and Marmoutier, it captivates visitors with its peaceful atmosphere and historical heritage. Notably, it features a 17th-century niche cross and resting benches, which reflect a rich tradition.
The Saint Michael Church, once situated within the cemetery grounds, became too small in the 19th century. A new church was therefore built on the Main Street, with a tympanum dated 1863. The old place of worship was partially demolished and converted into the cemetery chapel. A restoration took place in 1997, preserving a fragment of a 1712 cross visible on the sacristy wall.
