Kuehn Wines
Perched on the slopes of Ammerschwihr, the 16 hectares of vineyards of the KUEHN house benefit from ideal sunlight and sustainable viticulture. The historic cellars, nicknamed the "Caves de l’Enfer," date back to the 17th century and are among the oldest and deepest in the village. They extend up to 7 meters underground, housing 45 century-old oak vats, the oldest dating from 1850. These vats, witnesses to ancestral know-how, stand alongside 35 barrels dedicated to aging Pinot Noirs. A modern cellar, equipped with stainless steel tanks, complements these facilities. Accessible by two shafts, one built in 1675, these cellars served as a refuge in 1944, protecting villagers and cultural treasures. Today, they embody hope and resilience, supported by the hospitality of the KUEHN family. Their Alsace wines and crémants, produced from these cellars, continue this story of perseverance and joy.
