Lac du Forlet (Trout Lake)
Perched at 1,061 meters altitude, Lac du Forlet, also known as Trout Lake, overlooks all the lakes of the Vosges.
Set in an ancient glacial cirque with steep walls, it covers 2.8 hectares and offers a breathtaking panorama. The Tanet (1,292 m) and Gazon de Faîte (1,306 m) watch over its waters, framed by a mosaic of landscapes: peat bogs, steep cliffs, rocky scree, fir forests, and various trees.
This setting, reminiscent of the Alps, makes it one of the most beautiful lakes in the Vosges massif.
A picnic area on the edge allows for rest, while the adjoining farm-inn serves typical mountain farm meals from its terrace. Munster cheeses, fruit tarts, and other local specialties are offered, all in a setting where the landscape is savored as much as the dishes.
