Le Markstein

Perched between 1040 and 1265 meters above sea level in the Vosges Mountains, Le Markstein is a versatile resort dedicated to winter and summer sports, as well as relaxation.

In winter, it offers cross-country skiing trails and areas for sledding, while in summer, visitors can enjoy paragliding or mini-golf.

The resort is part of a larger area including the Breitfirst site and the northern high route, accessible for a toll, which connects it to the Grand Ballon.

It has made sports history by hosting World Cup ski stages in 1983 and 1987, as well as the Paragliding World Cup in 1999.

Le Markstein is also a must-visit spot for French, German, and Swiss motorcyclists, thanks to its location on the famous Route des Crêtes and its exceptional panoramas, accessible whenever weather conditions allow, usually from April to November.
