Le Schallern Restaurant

Perched at 1,107 meters altitude, on the heights of Gaschney and nestled against the slope of Petit Hohneck, Le Schallern is a hotel-restaurant accessible only on foot. The walk from the Gaschney parking lot takes about 15 minutes, a climb that is part of the adventure, requiring suitable shoes and a backpack rather than a wheeled suitcase.

Upon arrival, a panoramic terrace rewards visitors with breathtaking views of the Munster Valley, the Alsace plain, and on clear days, the Swiss Alps. The cuisine is family-style, mountain-inspired, and seasonal, entirely homemade and inspired by local terroir. The products are local, the dishes generous, and the flavors comforting, to be enjoyed on the terrace in fine weather or in a warm atmosphere inside. More than just a dining spot, Le Schallern offers a mountain retreat, ideal after a hike, to share a meal, admire the panorama, or simply enjoy a moment of relaxation.
