Lembach

At the beginning of the 13th century, the village of Lembach was under the authority of the Ettendorf family. In 1327, the Fleckenstein family became their vassals and acquired the right bank of the Sauer River, including the church and the mill. They maintained their rule over Lembach until the French Revolution, shaping the economic and religious life of the locality. It was only during the 1930s that the village experienced a new boom, marked by the construction of the Maginot Line fortifications, which revitalized the region.
