Lorentzen
Nestled in the Eichel valley, in Alsace Bossue and near the Northern Vosges Regional Natural Park, Lorentzen is a small village with about 280 inhabitants.
It is crossed by departmental road 919 connecting Haguenau to Sarreguemines, offering convenient regional access. The nearest train station is in Diemeringen, less than 2 km away, on the Strasbourg-Sarreguemines line, facilitating travel to nearby major cities.
The landscape of Lorentzen is characterized by hills alternating between farmland, covering nearly half of the communal territory, and meadows, which cover about a third. This green setting provides a peaceful living environment and varied panoramas.
The village boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. A 14th-century medieval castle, along with its 18th-century outbuildings, has been restored as a center for nature and cultural education. Several cycling routes start from this iconic site, inviting visitors to explore the surroundings by bike. Finally, local beer enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy the Lorentzator, brewed by the Roehrig brewery, which is about to reopen.
