Mackwiller

Mackwiller, nestled in Alsace Bossue, holds a special place in the Roman history of the region.

The village is located on the route of an ancient strategic Roman road that connected the Vosges passes to the Saar and Trier via the Eichel valley.

What makes Mackwiller particularly unique is the presence of Roman ruins still visible in the open air.

Among them are baths, a villa, and a mausoleum, attesting to the importance of this site in ancient times.

These features make it one of the few villages in Alsace to offer such accessible archaeological heritage.
