Maison Moritz Prado Alsace Wines
Born in 2018 from the meeting of Ghislain Moritz, an Alsatian winemaker, and Angela Prado, a Colombian wine enthusiast, Maison Moritz Prado is located in Albé, a village perched between 400 and 500 meters altitude in the Villé valley. This unique terroir, marked by schist soils, produces wines with remarkable minerality and freshness.
The estate covers 4.85 hectares of vines cultivated organically, transitioning to biodynamics. Environmentally respectful methods include horse-drawn soil work, manual harvesting, and exclusive use of indigenous yeasts.
Winemaking is parcel-specific, with varied aging depending on the cuvées: stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, or stoneware amphorae. The wines are unfiltered and contain no added sulfites to preserve their authenticity. Three ranges are offered: Terroir de Roche, expressive and mineral wines; parcel selections highlighting specific plots; and the "Nous Sommes Libres" cuvée, experimental and sulfite-free for a free expression of the grape.
The estate welcomes visitors by appointment for friendly tastings and guided tours. It’s an opportunity to discover the soul of this mountain vineyard, where passion and freedom combine to offer exceptional wines.
