Markstein Winter Resort
The Markstein alpine area attracts skiing enthusiasts with its 13 slopes suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced skiers. Eight ski lifts provide access to the slopes, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, two illuminated slopes allow for night skiing sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., offering memorable descents under the stars. To introduce the youngest, the Markstein Ski School has a children's garden dedicated to discovering snow and skiing in a joyful and safe environment.
The Markstein Grand-Ballon Nordic area, meanwhile, stretches over 40 km of trails between the Grand-Ballon and the Breitfirst. It offers breathtaking landscapes with stunning views of the Vosges valleys, the Alsace plain, and, in clear weather, as far as the Alps. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will also find a slalom stadium, a rarity in the region. A specially designed Nordic Park in the heart of the resort offers four loops of varying difficulty to complete the experience.
To explore the massif differently, four snowshoe circuits depart from Markstein, inviting visitors to discover unique panoramas of the valley and the Alps. Lift passes are available for pre-sale online at a promotional price until November 15, 2025, on the nordic.alsace website.
