Memorial Monument of the 11th Hessian Jäger Battalion

Erected in 1895, this monument consists of a central obelisk flanked by side walls with benches.

Bronze plaques affixed to the structures bear commemorative inscriptions. They include the names of the deceased as well as that of the architect, Haack, based in Berlin, and the date of construction.

The plaques also mention the emblematic battle sites of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71: Sedan, Paris, Woerth, Wissembourg, and Phalsbourg.

The main inscription, engraved in German, pays tribute to the comrades of the Hessian Jäger Battalion No. 11 who fell or died in combat for the king and the fatherland.
