Memorial Monument of the 2nd Nassau Infantry Regiment No. 88

Erected in 1900 at the edge of the Niederwald forest, on the way up to Eberbach, this monument was inaugurated on August 6 of the same year.

Originally, it featured a bronze flag bearer soldier, which was removed in 1919.

It was then replaced by a cross. Surrounded by a wrought iron fence, this historic site bears witness to a bygone era.
