Memorial Monument of the 2nd Thuringian Infantry Regiment

Dating from 1899, this monument honors the soldiers of the 2nd Thuringian Infantry Regiment, No. 32, who died during the conflicts of 1870 and 1871.

It notably commemorates the battles of Woerth, Sedan, Paris, Châteaudun, Orléans, Châteauneuf, and Chartres.

The eagle atop the monument was cast at the Aktien Gesellschaft workshops, formerly H. Cladenbeck and Sons in Berlin, as evidenced by the signature visible on the back.

Originally, the monument stood freely atop a hill, but it is now surrounded by trees that partially obscure the view.
