Memory and Peace Museum

The Memory & Peace Museum in Hochfelden is actively committed to the duty of remembrance through permanent and temporary exhibitions, lectures, publications, and educational activities. Its mission is to bring history to life and to convey the values of peace to as many people as possible.

The museum honors the men and women who died for France, from the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 to contemporary conflicts. Visitors discover a diverse collection of uniforms, weapons, vehicles, and military objects, all concrete testimonies of history and the human stories that shaped it.

Beyond preserving heritage, the museum conducts awareness activities aimed at younger generations. It highlights the fragility of peace and the importance of the sacrifices necessary to maintain it. In collaboration with the National Education system, it supports teachers, pupils, and students in exploring history through authentic objects and their stories.

A place of memory and transmission, the museum also serves as a reference space for historians. It welcomes both veterans and active military personnel, essential actors in the defense and history of our country.
