Mixed Church of Our Lady of Zehnacker

In 1513, Zehnacker came under the authority of the city of Strasbourg and adopted the Reformation. The current church, dating from 1686, incorporates a tower from the second half of the 12th century, a remnant of a basilica already present in the 8th century. In 1851, the nave and choir, having become too small, were demolished and rebuilt. An interior division was then created: a transverse wall divides the space into two distinct parts, one Catholic and the other Protestant. The organ loft is reserved for Protestants, while the choir is assigned to Catholics. Access to the church differs according to denomination: Catholics enter through a side opening on the south of the nave, while Protestants use the main entrance on the west. A tower on the north side houses a common door leading to the shared nave.
