Montaigne High School

In May 1909, the city council decided to build a girls' high school on the site of the former slaughterhouse.

To shield the school from noise and dust, the architects designed an L-shaped plan with corridors facing the street. Two entrances were created, including a grander one opening onto rue de Metz.

Completed in 1912, the building is notable for its dressed stone and brick construction, enhanced with sculptures. A turret topped with a clock overlooks a terrace bordered by balustrade railings. Although historically significant, this high school is not open to the public.
