Mortzwiller

Perched at the junction of the Sundgau hills and the first foothills of the Vosges, Mortzwiller is an Alsatian village that serves as a natural balcony overlooking grand landscapes.

From its heights, the view embraces the imposing Rossberg massif, while the Bärenkopf, once crossed by the Franco-German border in 1870, stands nearby.

Further south, the Ballon d'Alsace unfolds its steep slopes towards the Doller valley, offering a striking contrast with the surrounding reliefs.

On clear days, the view extends to the Jura, whose bluish line appears on the horizon, while the sparkling peaks of the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland appear in the distance like a postcard backdrop.

The commune also charms with its architectural heritage, notably its half-timbered houses, witnesses to a preserved Alsatian tradition.
