Museum of Seismology and Terrestrial Magnetism

Founded in 1900 in one of the German buildings of the university, this museum was initially designed to house a seismological station, in the context of the occupation following the 1870 war. Today, it presents a remarkable collection of 18 instruments illustrating the evolution of seismic measurement techniques from the early 19th century to the 1950s. In addition, there is an important series of devices dedicated to the study of the Earth's magnetic field. These two collections, seismometers and magnetometers, constitute the largest assemblies gathered in one place.
