Museum of the Schlitte and Wood Trades
The Munster Valley preserves the memory of the schlitte workers, those who once transported logs and firewood in the Vosges.
Their trade, now vanished, is revived through the Schlitte Museum, managed by volunteers.
Established in 1973 and renovated in 1997, this museum also presents wood species, logging techniques, and wood craftsmanship, reflecting the skills of past generations.
The museum closes during winter but remains accessible by reservation for groups wishing to explore this heritage.
