Museum Tour of the Dominican Heritage Library

Since June 25, 2022, the Dominican Library of Colmar has been open to all visitors following a meticulous restoration that transformed the former municipal library into an exceptional place dedicated to books in all their forms. This architectural gem now houses a significant collection: nearly 400,000 documents, including 1,200 manuscripts, of which 400 are medieval from the major abbeys of Upper Alsace, as well as 2,300 incunabula and 10,000 books from the 16th century. Access to this site is free for everyone. Don't miss the cloister and the medieval garden, which add a historical and calming touch to the visit. The reading room is open Monday to Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
