Natural History and Ethnography Museum

In the heart of the picturesque Petite Venise district, the Natural History and Ethnography Museum of Colmar is housed in an elegant historic building.

It features rich and varied collections: taxidermied animals, both regional and exotic, showcasing past and present biodiversity.

Geology is also highlighted with precious minerals and fossils of prehistoric animals found in the region, offering a journey through geological time.

The museum also presents rare ethnographic objects from the Marquesas Islands, China, Latin America, and Africa.

Finally, a section dedicated to ancient Egypt, with mummies and Coptic textiles, completes the cultural offering. This Egyptian collection is the only one visible in Alsace.
