Nideck Waterfall

Located 40 km from Strasbourg, the Nideck waterfall is at the entrance to the Bruche Valley in the Vosges of Alsace. It lies a few kilometers from the village of Oberhaslach, at an altitude of 534 meters, south of the ruins of the Nideck Castles. Its waters tumble down a volcanic rock wall about 25 meters high, offering a striking natural spectacle.

This site is marked by a local legend, that of the giants of Nideck, adding a mysterious dimension to this wild and wooded setting. In summer, the walk is both refreshing and shaded, ideal for a nature getaway. In winter, the waterfall takes on a romantic aspect when its waters turn into ice cascades.

Accessible from the D218, opposite the Nideck forest house, the waterfall can be reached via a hiking trail suitable for all levels.
