Non stop
Near the Mulhouse fire station, artist Tobias Rehberger transformed a former 1950s tram station into a deliberately dilapidated artwork.
Using a jackhammer, he destroyed corners and exposed metal reinforcements, giving it the appearance of an ancient ruin.
His intention was to create an imaginary relic of a vanished tram line, inviting passersby and locals to make the space their own.
Today, this "station" sometimes bears graffiti or pasted posters, just as Rehberger envisioned.
Through this creation, the artist questions the disappearance of certain traces of the past that he believes should remain in the collective space.
