Notre-Dame de Lorette Chapel
Perched on a promontory overlooking the Murbach Abbey, the Notre-Dame de Lorette Chapel was built in 1693.
Its architecture is directly inspired by the Santa Casa de Loreto, which is how it got its name.
Commissioned by the monks of Murbach to replace a ruined chapel at the same location, it was solemnly consecrated by the Bishop of Basel shortly after its completion. Today, this place of worship offers a unique viewpoint over the abbey, allowing visitors to admire the entire site from a privileged angle.
