Old Shooting Ranges

After 1871, German soldiers stationed in Mulhouse used this area of the Hardt forest for training.

Concrete remains, some quite large, still bear witness to the existence of this military training ground. It was used until the 1970s.

During World War I, eight Alsatian civilians were summarily executed here. A commemorative stele marks this tragic event.
