Ottersthal
Perched above Saverne, this Alsatian village charms with its traditional architecture and rich religious heritage. Among its treasures is the Sainte-Barbe Chapel, located at 330 meters altitude. First mentioned in 1559, this chapel underwent two major restorations, in the 17th century and then in 1970. Its coats of arms and initials recall the Count of Salm, and a spring flows below, adding to its charm. Hiking enthusiasts can explore the Three Chapels trail, a marked route by the Club Vosgien linking Saverne to Ottersthal. This path offers breathtaking views of the Vosges foothills and picturesque valleys, dotted with ruined castles, caves, and other archaeological sites.
