Outdoor Swimming Pool

The outdoor swimming pool of Bellefosse, built in 1936 by members of the Bellefosse Strasbourg Ski Club, is the main attraction of the village in summer. Located at 750 meters altitude, just five minutes from Champ du Feu, it is near the Ski Club refuge and 200 meters from the Farm Inn.

Long supplied by a natural spring, it underwent major renovations in 1997 to modernize its heating and water treatment system while preserving its large 10 by 20 meter pool, a rarity at this altitude.

Between 2015 and 2016, significant work was carried out to reinforce the structure and improve the surroundings. A new retaining wall made of rock replaced the old one, which was at risk of collapsing after showing signs of weakness. A wire mesh fence was installed to preserve the view of the village of Waldersbach and the Perheux Pass. The sanitary block was also completely restructured and brought up to standards, now offering a more functional and accessible space, with a central corridor and two separate changing rooms for women and men.
