Park of the Château de Brosses
In the peaceful village of Dorlisheim, located on the Alsace wine route, just a 20-minute drive from Strasbourg, lies the garden of the Château de Brosses. This picturesque site houses a remarkable gnomonic monument: a south-facing sundial, likely dating from the early 18th century. The monument, standing 1.85 meters tall, rests on a cylindrical concrete base 65 cm in diameter. On its south face is engraved a small square sundial measuring 10 cm on each side. Its artistic and historical value warranted restoration of the markings as well as the refurbishment of its style.
