Picnic Area - Muleteers' Trail
This picturesque spot, nestled deep in the forest, was once an essential stop on the muleteers' trail.
In the 15th and 16th centuries, this path was used to transport ore extracted from Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines to Fréland, where it was smelted. Today, it offers a bucolic break for lunch in nature, in a preserved and historically rich setting.
