Porte de la Bruche

The Porte de la Bruche stands at the entrance of the medieval village of Dachstein, about twenty kilometers from Strasbourg. Dating from the early 14th century, it was restored in 1772 and is the main remnant of the medieval fortifications that once protected the town. Nearby, a tower also dating from the Middle Ages draws attention, recalling the strategic importance of this site at the time.
