Printzheim Church

The church holds many artistic and archaeological treasures recently uncovered.

Renovation work, which began on January 1, 2005, was completed on May 20, 2008.

Inside the bell tower, medieval lime paintings were revealed during an inauguration on September 27, 2009.

The vaults are decorated with frescoes depicting Christ in Majesty and the symbols of the four evangelists.

Among the discoveries are the remains of an altar, fragments of a tabernacle placed in a niche, and about a hundred pieces of glass. Once reassembled, these form a 19th-century oil lamp. Thanks to the reconstruction of 160 fragments, the tabernacle was restored and now displays the coat of arms of the Lichtenberg family.
