Protestant Church
During the Reformation, some lords of Ribeaupierre and part of the population adopted the new religion.
The lords then held their worship in the Sainte-Marguerite chapel of their castle, while the other inhabitants had to attend Protestant churches in the surrounding area.
This situation continued until 1783, when a temple was built on the very site of the chapel. Its bell tower was added much later, in 1898.
The building houses remarkable organs, originally from the Notre-Dame church in Saverne. Installed in 1784 by Sébastien Krämer, they are accompanied by an organ case made by Joseph Waltrin in 1717. The case was modified during the installation of the organs, in the Louis XVI style.
