Protestant Church and Presbyteries of Bischwiller
The Notre-Dame Church of Bischwiller, built in the 14th century, is a remarkable example of fortified architecture. Converted into a Protestant temple in the 16th century, it has hosted various Protestant parishes from the region, whether German Reformed, French, or Lutheran. Inside, the carefully crafted woodwork, the ducal lodge, and the Silbermann organ, installed in 1729, illustrate the rich heritage of this building. Part of the organ is classified as a historic monument. Additionally, the three presbyteries located at numbers 6, 8, and 10 on Church Street reflect the historical importance of the Protestant community in Bischwiller and the central role played by its pastors.
