Protestant Church of Romanswiller

This village, incorporated into the Free City of Strasbourg in 1489, naturally adopted the Reformation in 1526. Its church, subject to a simultaneum between 1690 and 1899, reflects this turbulent religious history. Some elements of its tower suggest origins dating back to the 12th century. The nave was built in 1611, then modified in the 18th century before being transformed again in the 19th century. In 1900, it underwent a complete remodeling in a neo-Romanesque style, including widening and enlargement.
