Protestant Church of Weiterswiller

This Gothic church, built between 1338 and 1346, is dedicated to Saint Michael. From 1727 to 1874, it served both Catholic and Protestant communities under the simultaneum arrangement. Since 1874, it has been exclusively used for Protestant worship. When the Reformation was introduced in 1547 by the Barons of Fleckenstein, the walls were whitewashed to cover the murals. These frescoes, rediscovered in 1906, date from the 15th century and depict scenes from the Old Testament. Guided tours are held on Sundays and public holidays, and on other days by appointment.
