Rämelsberg Climbing Site

Perched at 830 meters altitude above Wolschwiller, on the French-Swiss border, the Rämelsberg climbing site offers a unique experience. Although located in Switzerland, it can be accessed from France via the summit ridge marking the border. The site consists of three distinct sectors totaling 46 routes, ranging from 5b to 8a+. Re-equipped in 2020, it features varied routes, some over 25 meters high. Two sectors face south and a third faces west, attracting climbers with levels between 5c and 6a and above. The entire area is detailed in the guidebook Basler Jura/Jura bâlois.

There are two ways to reach the site. From Switzerland, take the winding road to the village of Petit-Lucelle (Kleinlützel), where parking is available near the Rämelweide restaurant. The walk to the cliffs takes about 5 minutes. From France, park at the pass on the scenic road between Wolschwiller and Kiffis, then follow a marked trail (yellow cross) for about 3 kilometers, approximately a 45-minute walk.
