Refuge du Schneeberg

Perched with a spectacular view over Wangenbourg-Engenthal, this small mountain hut is a peaceful haven for hikers.

Inside, a fireplace allows for grilling while enjoying the warmth. A table and benches are available for meals or breaks. Upstairs, a basic dormitory is set up, but it is advisable to bring your own sleeping bag.

The refuge is freely accessible all year round, with no possibility of reservation.

In summer, the limited capacity may require sleeping under the stars, depending on attendance.

From July 2026, the fireplace will be sealed to reduce fire risks and improve comfort by reducing smoke, especially in winter.
