Remarkable House

This historic site, dating back to 1706, is a former cooper's farmhouse notable for its watchtower, or oriel, adorned with a cooper's emblem. The main carriage door, dated 1735, leads to a first courtyard, while a second door, carved with the same emblem and dated 1740, provides access to a second courtyard.

At an undetermined time, the building housed the inn "À la Couronne" before becoming a restaurant today. The cellar, attached to the dwelling, has been converted into a bar, and the whole has been extended southward along the street.

The ground floor facade is stone, while the upper floor is half-timbered. The balusters of the watchtower's parapet are decorated with reliefs depicting emblems and foliage. A statuette of the Virgin and Child sits in a niche above the pedestrian door. The building features a long-pitched roof and an external distribution staircase, as well as a winding staircase with landings and corbels visible in the courtyard. The watchtower, classified as a Historic Monument, can only be visited from the outside.
