Reserve (for all luggage)
Commissioned by the City of Mulhouse in 2004, the installation *Réserve* continues the artist's work.
It consists of a bright red metal cage, half-buried in the ground, in the middle of a grassy area.
Originally, the artist envisioned participants from previous projects placing objects or memories inside, evoking a material or memorial reserve.
Today, the work takes on a different meaning: the cage becomes a symbol of boundary and protection, even danger. The patch of earth beneath the cage, inaccessible to humans, is left to the free growth of vegetation, especially ivy.
This contrast between protection and restriction illustrates the irony of the piece. The title *Réserve* also prompts ecological reflection, emphasizing the importance of preserving nature and the planet while questioning the limits of such protection.
