Restaurant La Metzig 1525
In the heart of the medieval town of Molsheim, about twenty kilometers from Strasbourg, this restaurant occupies the ground floor of a remarkable building: La Metzig, the town's former butcher shop.
Its Renaissance architecture and flower-adorned facade create an exceptional setting, especially from its summer terrace offering a stunning view of the building and the town hall square, where a Renaissance fountain stands. The indoor dining room, accommodating up to 80 guests, highlights traditional Alsatian cuisine with daily specials, local specialties, game, and fish dishes.
For those in a hurry, take-away meals are available. Flammekueche (tarte flambée) is served only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. During the day, the establishment sometimes operates as a brasserie in the afternoons.
In July and August, the restaurant offers lunch and dinner service every day.
Accessible to people with reduced mobility, it closes annually from December 24 to 26 and no longer accepts checks.
