Retschwiller

Retschwiller, a small commune located in the heart of Outre-Forêt, is part of the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park, itself designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This preserved setting invites exploration of typical northern Alsace villages such as Seebach, Hoffen, or Hunspach, the latter being labeled one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France and voted Favorite Village of the French in 2020. Wissembourg, a member of the 100 Most Beautiful Detours of France, is also nearby.

Nature and local product enthusiasts can stroll through the Cleebourg vineyard before tasting a glass of white wine directly at the cellar. In Drachenbronn, the Canopy Walk offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

For history buffs, World War II memorial sites like the Schœnenbourg Fort or the Shelter Museum are significant stops. Finally, local craftsmanship can be discovered through the pottery workshops of Betschdorf.
