Riedheim
Riedheim, whose name first appeared in 784 as Creodheim, means "the dwelling (Heim) near the marsh (Ried)".
This Alsatian village, marked by its history, has been part of Bouxwiller as an associated commune since March 1, 1973.
Geographic archives, notably the Cassini map created for the kings of France, reveal that a gallows once stood on the Galgenberg hill, also called Gallows Mount.
Riedheim is one of about fifty localities in Alsace to have a simultaneum church, a place of worship shared by several denominations.
