Robert Karcher and Sons Estate
The family-run Robert Karcher and Sons Estate, certified organic, occupies a former Alsatian farmhouse dating back to 1602, located in the heart of Old Colmar, a symbolic town in the Alsace wine region.
Its vineyard covers about 10 hectares in AOC La Harth, northwest of Colmar, on a gravelly terroir composed of sand and pebbles. This soil, combined with a warm and dry summer climate, gives the wines a distinctive character marked by fruitiness, finesse, and elegance.
The vines are situated 5 to 8 km from the estate, in an area with a deeply rooted winemaking history. The estate has preserved the rural spirit of this medieval neighborhood, protected by Colmar's ramparts. It notably houses the oldest still-active cellars in the city, where century-old oak vats testify to traditional expertise.
At the welcome area, a friendly team offers tastings of about fifteen Alsatian wine varieties. Visitors receive personalized advice, detailed presentations of the wines, and historical anecdotes about the family and the estate.
