Roedelen Refuge

The Ski-Club Guebwiller refuge, located at the Roedelen site at the foot of the Grand-Ballon, the highest point of the Vosges, is a chalet open to all. It welcomes visitors by reservation on weekends and during summer holidays. In winter, access is only on foot from the Grand Ballon parking lot, as the ridge road is closed during this season. In summer, several routes allow reaching the refuge from Guebwiller, either on foot or by bike. In winter, it is accessible from the Markstein station, about 6 km away, via a groomed trail suitable for classic cross-country skiing, skating, and snowshoeing.

Ideally located near the GR 532 and the ridge road, it offers a perfect starting point to explore the Grand-Ballon, the Ballon lake, or to complete the three-day tour of the Guebwiller valley, passing through the Petit-Ballon then the Grand-Ballon. The chalet has a lounge, a dormitory with 30 beds, a self-service kitchen, and sanitary facilities equipped with showers and toilets.
