Rohrschollen Island Nature Reserve

Created in 1997, the Rohrschollen Island National Nature Reserve is located a few kilometers from Strasbourg. This green site hosts a wide variety of plant and animal species: black poplars, white willows, sycamore maples, woodpeckers, birds of prey, amphibians, reptiles, and insects coexist here. Classified as a national nature reserve, it benefits from protection measures such as site monitoring, conservation and restoration work, as well as public information actions. Open to all, the reserve offers numerous themed trails each year, such as the greylag goose trail or the gallery forest trail. For wildlife enthusiasts, two observatories are available on the German bank, offering a privileged view of the island's biodiversity.

Finally, free guided tours are organized throughout the year.
