Ruins of the Château du Petit-Ringelstein
Perched on a modest summit, the Château du Petit-Ringelstein, also known as Château du Petit-Ringelsberg, is distinguished by its dry stone enclosure measuring approximately 61 meters long by 21 meters wide, with a height of only one meter. Surrounded by a ditch, this historic site has been a classified monument since December 1898. Nearby is an old quarry where bossed stones were extracted, probably cut during the first third of the 13th century. These blocks may have been used in the construction of the Grand-Ringelstein or Hohenstein, although its history remains little known. Some experts even suggest the hypothesis of a primitive form of castle. Its current appearance could result from late modifications, possibly made during a siege of Hohenstein. Today, the site is freely accessible via a hiking trail offered by the Molsheim-Mutzig Regional Tourist Office under the name "Panorama d’Oberhaslach."
