Sacred Heart Statue

Perched on the limestone cliff of the Horn, the Sacred Heart is a statue erected in 1912 as a tribute to the peace desired by the local population.

Its base bears words of peace attributed to Christ, engraved during a time marked by war tensions.

Intentionally facing the Fort of Mutzig, it embodies a symbol of hope and reconciliation.

At the foot of this statue lies the Grand Cru vineyard of Altenberg, while on the horizon, in clear weather, the silhouette of Strasbourg Cathedral can be seen, located about twenty kilometers away. The site also offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surroundings.
