Saint Anthony of Padua Church Hohengoeft

The current village church was built in 1867 under the direction of district architect Louis Furst.

It replaces an earlier building whose construction date remains unknown but could date back to the Middle Ages due to its modest size.

No remains of this old church have been found, except for some furniture pieces that may have come from it: the baptismal font dated 1621, as well as statues representing Saint Michael, Saint George, the Immaculate Conception, Saint Anthony of Padua, and a group of the Virgin of Mercy.

The current church is notable for its orientation: its choir faces west, towards the village, occupying the exact site of the former building. Its interior architecture is simple, marked by a paneled nave that gives it a modest and contemplative atmosphere.
