Saint Blaise Church, Dahlenheim
The Saint Blaise Church in Dahlenheim, constructed between 1774 and 1775, replaced an old church in poor condition.
Designed in the neoclassical style, it stands out as one of the earliest buildings of this type in Alsace.
Its architecture includes a four-bay nave and a polygonal choir.
Inside, there is a polychrome wooden altarpiece from 1781, along with an altar from the same year and an organ case made in 1829 by Joseph Stiehr.
The building also features remarkable decorative elements, such as a curved pediment above the entrance, adorned with a niche housing a statue of Saint Blaise with the inscription "Ora Pro Nobis Blasi Anno 1774." Another pediment, triangular in shape, is decorated with a bas-relief depicting a radiant triangle.
The north sacristy, built in 1775, contrasts with the south sacristy, added in 1895.
Nearby, the cemetery was relocated around 1870 to the village entrance, but some tombstones and the original enclosure have been preserved.
Finally, a Lourdes grotto, partly attached to the sacristy and partly to the church wall, was created in 1937 thanks to a donation from a village resident.
